Hi, I'm an American in Fiji. My Fijian friends are asking me to help them locate a copy of a movie made in the 1970s or 1980s in Turkey called "Bobby Teardrops". English was dubbed in later, in Ireland. I cannot find the film anywhere but I found an article about it saying that it is well known in Papua New Guinea. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of this film and have it mailed to me in Fiji? (or accessed online)
Here is the storyline: A Turkish woman becomes pregnant but her husband does not believe the child is his. Despite her protests, he rejects her and she suffers greatly raising the child in another city. Eventually she commits suicide and her husband then realizes his mistake and has to search for his 5-yr-old son who he has never seen and who is lost wandering the streets of Istanbul.
