Hi, I have recently moved to Poznan and am wondering if there are any groups of English speakers that meet up for drinks etc. I don't know many people here other than my girlfriends friends and I miss going out for a pint.

  Hi John, contacted you by email, I am here until the 9 Jan, then back to the UK until the 3 Feb, let me know if drinks are arranged before then and I will attend.

  Hi John and Nathalie,

  I am up for having a drink in the New Year but it would have to be in the second half of January as I am traveling before then. As for the bar 'Viking Domhus' I think it has closed but I am sure we can easily find a place on Market Square.

  I am sure it will not be a problem.
  The Bar as i said is called "The Viking" or maybe Dom Viking, something like that.
  Here is a map of the area where the street is located, once on the street you will easily see the sign.

  The group that meets is an English club that was originally organized through Couchsurfing.com. It used to meet at a great restaurant below the Nowy Theatre, but the restaurant closed so they moved locations.

  Maybe we all can meet the first week of January.

  Hi all,

  I'll arrive somewhere 1st week of 2012 and will be around for about 3 months for a project @ work. Been browsing the web for some good meetup spots. Do you mind having a Dutchie come along for that drink?

  I'm also thinking the same.

  We both need to stop thinking and start doing! So here's my thought.
  Let's meet at The Viking (just off of stary rynek) after the holiday season.

  This is the bar where a language group meets of both polish and internationals.
  I went once or twice and had a nice time. Let me know your thoughts.

  A possible English speaking community in Poznan??

  Hi John,

  I hear what you say and have thought the same...is there an expat community in Poznan?? Or what is the best way of starting one? In my situation, I have not moved permanently to Poznan yet but I am there 10 days a month. So if you fancy a pint sometime then drop me a mail. When I am around I usually visit Market Square.

  And for any others viewing this message, why not join the forum?
