Ireland vs. UK: cultural differences

پوسٹڈ ان آئیرلینڈ فورم

I know that locals can be quite offended by tourists who do not acknowledge cultural differences between Ireland and the UK, so I thought, let's together create a list of these differences on this forum, so that everyone knows :-)

What are the cultural differences between Ireland and UK that you came across?

My tip for the begining is - do not assume that Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom :-)

After living in Ireland and England I can say there are a LOT of differences. The Irish are warmer, more welcoming and don't claim someone is rude only because they are a foreigner. The English are rude, aggressive, jealous and rather immature and claim someone is rude only because they may use a wrong word even it means the same, or just because they have an accent.

You said a valid point there and it is very true the Republic of Ireland is NOT a part of the United Kingdom for sure :0)
