Objectives:
How to get the most out of your stay in Arabia personally and professionally. An overview of the main language and cultural barriers in the GCC and how to address them.

Content:
I went to an international school and have always been exposed to people from all over the world with their different languages and cultures. As beautiful as diversity can be, with it come challenges. I will offer my personal and professional experiences of connecting with people from different places and why adapting is beneficial. I will share my unique Qatari experience of integrating into the Bedouin hunting lifestyle and why, as women, we sometimes face more challenges than simply being a foreigner. Each person, whether an employee, a freelancer, an entrepreneur, or member of the family can enrich their life by understanding how to best integrate into the local culture and to make the most out of it.

Take Away for participants:
We have all come to this region for various reasons. However there is no reason to stop us from maximizing the experience we gain from this opportunity we have been given. I would like all participants to review their integration into Qatar and what every single one can do to enrich their life with aspects of the local culture.

In a group discussion, I would like to understand and address everyone’s personal challenges in this region. Some challenges will be unique, others will be familiar to all attendees. Participants will be given various suggestions to tackle their specific issues and ensure not just a richer stay in the region, but a more successful way of doing business in this part of the world.
