Two forts in one day trek to Balwantgad & Tringalwadi forts with Pandavleni caves near kasara/Igatpuri.
Brief Introduction about Forts are as follows
Fort height: 1148/3238 fts from MSL
Type : Hill forts
Place : Kasara/Igatpuri
Grade : Easy.

#Balwantgad fort
A small fort in Kasara region (6km from kasara) with easy trek from base village Maal.
Base village ; Maal/vihigaon
The said history is that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj visited this fort while visiting Surat.
long wall of bastions, ancient carved items and ruined structures. There is not much to watch on the fort but it offers fantastic view of Tringalwadi fort and the Kasara-Igatpuri train track.

#Tringalwadi Fort :
Tringalwadi has a beautiful fort, the trek to this fort is through lush green grass and a dam. The exact period of construction of this fort is not known, however, one can roughly estimate the fort to be in existence since 10th century. Also no historical details are available to know the period during which it was under control of Marathas, however, during the year 1688; Mughals took control over the fort by perfidy.
Pandav Leni(Caves) :
These caves are divided into three major areas viz. an outer verandah, ‘Vihar’, the abbey and internal ‘Garbhagriha’.
