Living in Salzburg, working in Vienna

Hey!

Just wondering, has anyone any previous experience in commuting from Salzburg to Vienna. I have been offered a job in Vienna, but my girlfriend has already secured a job in Salzburg! Its not the end of the world if we have to live apart for a while, but am just wondering if anyone has any experience of traveling between the 2for work??
I suppose another option would be to live in the middle! However, are the transport links outside the major cities any good?
