Each Wildlife Wednesdays lecture begins at 7pm in the Alaska Zoo Gateway Hall and covers a topic focused on wildlife of the Great Land - Alaska. The talks are approximately 45 minutes with questions and answers. Lectures are FREE to the public and last for about 45 minutes with questions to follow. All lectures are ASL interpreted. October 11th Lecture: Invasive Species in Alaska. Ashley Lutto is the Invasive Species Outreach and Education Biologist for US Fish and Wildlife Service, Alaska Region. Ashley received her MS from Mississippi State University, where her fieldwork focused on predator prey dynamics in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and her BS from Colorado State University. Her current work takes her across Alaska to support invasive species prevention and early detection rapid response efforts. Join Ashley to learn about the misplaced species, big and small, threatening Alaska's wild landscapes—and most importantly how you can help. Ashley's lecture will cover many invasives in Alaska as well as the story of Grubby.
