Citizenship of Spain through naturelized partner.

Hi guys and girls,

With due respect, I would like to ask, Can a spouse of some one be eligible for the Spanish Nationality also on behalf of partner who got the Spanish Nationality through naturalization (After 10 years of legal residence)?

we get married in jan 2009 and we have also spainish national son born in dec 2004.

I will be very thankful to you for your detials reply in this direction.

    Thanks for your assitance in reply of my query. Actually i have studied all your given offical bolletien material but it is for the foreigners having residencey in Spain. All the recent amendments and reforms are carried out in the direction of residency cards not for the Spanish citizenship. Thanks you very much for your assitance in this matter once more.

    If some one knows further in this matter , kindly post your replies in this forum "Citizenship of Spain".

    It has recently been decided that the regimen comunitario applies to ascendants and/or the spouse or registered partner (pareja de hecho) of a Spanish citizen.

    i am really depressed because the spain immigration department says, that i will be only eligible for the get the spanish citizenship if i get married with a spaniard by origin not by some one who get the citizenship through naturalization (after fulfilling the 10 years period).

    i could not undersand this double standared policy. it is a discriminatory law. when u give the citizenship to some one then u must give him/her full rights of citizen.

    Sorry plz make correct, my marriage took place in Jan 2004, sorry i wrongly wrote 2009.

    actually, i got a reply from belegal.com that i have to fulltill the residence requirments for 10 years if i get married with a spanish citizen who got citizenship of spain through naturalization after 10 years of residence period.

    i am posting of her reply which i received from belegal.com

    You will need to apply for citizenship via residence, after a 10 year residence in Spain. You don’t qualify for citizenship by marrying a Spaniard who is not a Spaniard of origin. Regards,

    Yes, without problems. She must be one year in Spain living and then she can have the nationality.
