    There are no official expat residential communities on the island (that I know of), but there are some areas that have a large enough concentration of American immigrants to be expat friendly. A good example of this is the northwest of the island. Rincón has a strong surfing community and Aguadilla had a US air force base. Some local spots are owned by expats themselves and some even have recurring events like gringo nights.
