About me:
I'm originally from America. I'm currently living in Berlin, Germany. My interests include traveling and learning foreign languages. I've lived and travelled all over Europe, but there are still plenty of places that I'd love to visit once I get around to it. I'm the type of person who would rather move to and live in a foreign country and learn the language and the customs than simply go there on vacation, however, I do try to make an effort to travel a few times a year as a way to control my workaholism. I also get a kick out of the bureaucracy involved in moving to and living and working in a foreign country. This is probably why the relocation services industry appeals to me so much. I've already lived in and travelled to several places in Europe including England, Germany, Holland, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, Italy and the Czech Republic. Hungary, Belgium, Romania, Russia and Holland are all on my current list of the places I'd like to visit next. I've already been to Holland but I'd love to go back in order to learn and practice the Dutch language. I am fluent in German and Polish and speak a little Russian and Czech, but I'm really interested in learning Dutch now. I would definitely like to learn Farsi and Egyptian Arabic (Kullu Tammam!!!) as well, but I have to polish up my Russian and learn Dutch first.

Twenty Years After The Wall Came Down

November 9th, 1989 definitely changed the world! It was the day when the Berlin Wall came down and this will be celebrated in the German capital this year.

In fact, there is no other place that once used to stand for the divided Germany and now stands for the reunited country in the same way.

Within twenty years the former divided city of Berlin has developed into a European metropolis that attracts more and more tourists every year.

But what exactly made this development possible? And, are there still places in Berlin where its former division can be tracked?
