Learning Spanish Basics

Hi Alden,
I moved to Madrid 3 months ago and began the daunting process of learning Spanish! The best way I have found to learn is through hearing as much Spanish as possible, whether this is through watching TV programs in Spanish with English subtitles, or through listening to native Spanish speakers having conversations. This has been very helpful for me as the hardest thing I find about Spanish is the pronunciation so the more I hear it spoken, the more accustomed I have become to how words and letters sounds. Spanish is a very phonetic language meaning when you have mastered the pronunciation of the different letters, it becomes a lot easier to read and speak.
