    Hello everybody,
Obviously, the best way to learn a language for communication is by interacting with people whose native language is the target.

35 years ago, I learned a "humble" chut chut Russian within months by not relying on an interpreter when I worked with Russian experts in the Iraqi air defense missiles brigades where I was collected by the army (compulsory service) after being graduated from the University of Technology as an Electrical engineer.

Since then I didn't talk to a single Russian but still feel that I can communicate in Russian conveniently at least to perform my daily needs if I happen to be in Russia (which is a wish of mine).

The best thing in Russian is you write what you speak and vice versa.
Russian is a very rich and lovely language, something like Arabic and Spanish.
