    @carrie McLeod Family Visit Visa

    posted by  atif ashrafi in Saudi Arabia forum

    Yeh so while the Haj (pilgrimage) season is over, in cities near Makkah and Madina, they dont open up the visas till a month or so after. If you read previous comments you will see that family visit visas have been issued in cities like Riyadh and Dammam which are far away from Makkah.

    They dont tell you the date and just write "after pilgrimage season". A lot of people here believe that the visas will open for Jeddah after 15th of Muharram which is 8th of Nov (weekend). Best is for your husband to apply on the 9th (I am in the same position and plan on applying on the 9th). It is hoped that they will open visas for Jeddah expats by then.

    Oh and you have to fill a new form, and do the process again It is not too difficult, if he has the first one, he can copy paste from it.

    P.S You might even notice that some expats in Jeddah have received family visits last week (1 case on the internet forums is that of an assistant prof. in a govt university and another is of a non-muslim). But most have reported a rejection. I dont know the actual criteria
