    yeah, North America isn't a paradise by no means, and far from perfect, but for immigrants, there's something that just makes sense, even with all the dysfunctional corrupt system, and all the crimes and criminals. "a magic" might be too flattering a word, but there's this unspoken principle that makes everyone understand, it's OK if you are different, we are different too. so at the end of the day, everyone is somewhat equal, and this is all understood. and unknown is to be expected. as long as you contribute to the society, then you are part of the society, we don't all have to be best friends, but we can make the best out of it.

    we don't have great public transportation system like in Germany where they still complain about it, but we just manage to be content with what we have, and even smile a bit.
